CSLB Issues $2,000 Penalty to Sacramento-Area Contractor for Violating Electrician Certification Requirements

The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) announced it issued its first civil penalty to an electrical contractor for an Electrician Certification violation. The Sacramento-area C-10 contractor was penalized $2,000 and received a written warning.

The CSLB is currently investigating numerous other electrician certification complaints and expects to announce additional fines and penalties in the coming weeks for contractors found to be in violation of certification requirements. For information on how to comply with electrician certification so that your company does not receive a similar fine, call or e-mail me at the contact information below or click here for more information online .

How to file an Electrician Certification violation complaint:
As of July 1, 2009 the CSLB is responsible for enforcing the Electrician Certification law (Labor Code 3099.2). Any complaints about violations should be sent to the Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS); complaints received by the DAS regarding the violation(s) of this Labor Code will be forwarded to the CSLB.
