VTA's project labor agreement will increase BART line costs

A recent editorial by the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) Chair and Santa Clara County Supervisor Ken Yeager praised a September 1, 2011 11-1 VTA Board vote with Los Altos Hills Town Councilmember Rich Larsen dissenting that placed a discriminatory union-only Project Labor Agreement (PLA) for construction on the BART to San Jose Project. Sup. Yeager claimed the PLA would achieve cost savings, anticipated schedule improvement, and promises for fair wages and a smoothly run project. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Read More...
