The committee seeks to better inform members of important legislation which impacts their company and employees; cultivate influential relationships with representatives in the government at every level; educate and provide resources to members and to motivate them to become active in the political process; demonstrate to members the importance of their participation in the political and legislative process as well as shape legislation in ways that are favorable to ABC’s goals. Committee members are called on to be an advocate themselves, as well as provide insight from their experience on a personal, member and chapter level. This is accomplished through educating our members on the importance of political activism and through financial support of merit shop candidates.
Workforce Development Committee The Workforce Development Committee is charged with developing and assessing our classes in Safety, Green Building, Electrical Trainee Program, Craft Training and Management Education. The committee meets once a month via computer/conference call.
The UAC Committee members are responsible for recruiting, selecting, and supervising the training of apprentices. The UACs uniformly apply the rules and regulations to all apprentices and are responsible for making changes to the rules and regulations of the program. The UACs meet monthly and report to the ABC Training Trust. There are Five UAC committees. Carpentry UAC, Construction Craft Laborer UAC, Electrical UAC, Painting UAC, and Plumbing UAC.

The Membership Committee works to increase the membership of ABC Golden Gate Chapter, making us a larger, stronger voice for the merit shop. This is accomplished through an annual membership drive, working with members to identify new potential members and continually evaluate and improve member services.
