FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE SET TO INCREASE JULY 24  (07/16/2009)
ABC is reminding its members that the federal minimum wage, currently set at $6.55 per hour, will increase to $7.25 per hour on July 24, the third and final increase scheduled over a three-year period that began in 2007.

All ABC members with employees subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act's minimum wage provisions must post, and keep posted, a notice explaining the act in “a conspicuous place in all of their establishments so as to permit employees to readily read it.” Click here to download new federal minimum wage posters from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division website.

President George W. Bush signed the minimum wage increases into law on May 25, 2007 as part of a supplemental spending bill for the Iraq war.
