ABC’s HR Construction Professionals Conference, a comprehensive one-day event focused on employment law compliance, will be held April 9 at the ABC National Office in Arlington, Va.
Attendees will be able to expand their knowledge of various human resources laws, procedures and emerging trends that will affect companies and employees in 2010. Participants will be equipped with the tools to strengthen and enhance their human resources program to better face the legal and regulatory issues unique to the merit shop community.
In-depth sessions with industry experts will cover employee policy development and controlling the costs and frequency of employee lawsuits; using HR practices as effective deterrents to union organizing; preparing for OSHA enforcement; understanding human resources and payroll issues for government contractors; and identifying how to take advantage of cost-effective audits.
Participants also will have the opportunity to network with fellow colleagues during a reception on April 8, the evening before the conference.
This program is open to all construction professionals, with a special focus on owners and supervisors, as well as workers whose job functions relate to, human resources, payroll, risk management, and safety.
